Journey of a Fashion Start-Up: The Thing That Makes You Tick

Big changes are in the horizon over the next few days. Never has the words, “Follow your passion” resonated more than at this time. On Saturday, Igor and I will officially launch our fashion accessories business C’est Mode Chic at the Fairfield County Women’s Expo. Months of hard work and planning is finally coming to completion, at least the first stage. The next stage will be building a lasting and successful business that is relevant to people.

The hard work and hustle never truly ends when it comes to following your passion but I am proud of what we have accomplished so far. I decided a year ago that I would  take a calculated risk and follow my dream. Sacrifices and tough choices had to be made early. Surprisingly, those individuals I thought would be there the most were no where to be found. My business mentor as well as my close family and friends were the most encouraging.  My husband supported me but also challenged me to dig deeper within myself to find the key to what makes me tick. Suffice it to say I found it. Not at all an easy task. It only took 28 years but better late than never, right?

Whether you celebrate Easter or not. Think of today as a time of reflection and renewal. This is the moment where anything is possible. What drives you? What makes you happy? Once you have the answer to those questions, go make it happen. Life is too short for hesitation and excuses, just dive in. Happy Easter, Everyone!
